I am currently the Chair of Governors at Hassell CP School. I became a governor in 2004 as I wanted to take an active interest in my children’s education. I have 2 boys at school, the eldest is in Year 6 and the youngest is in Year 1. During my time as Governor I have also been a member of the Finance committee. I work on the management side of IT focusing on managing different aspects of Service Delivery. My interests are wide and varied, I enjoy camping, various country pursuits as well as rugby, having just started to coach the Under 11 team at Newcastle(Staffs) RUFC. I can be contacted on 01782 711631(after 6pm usually) or 07979 658460. |

I am the Deputy Head and Teacher Governor. Since joining the staff at Hassell four years ago, I have taught across all years in Key Stage 2 and am now working along colleagues in Key Stage 1 as I teach my year 2 class. I have always attended the governors meetings in my role as Deputy Head, but have become an ‘official’ governor since September 2008. My additional responsibilities as a governor include being on both the curriculum and financial subcommittees. On the home front, I live in the village of Tean with my husband and 3 children. You will often find us out and about walking in the countryside or visiting the park as our 3 boys always seem to have lots of energy to get rid of! As a working mum I appreciate how difficult it can sometimes be to get into school and ask things you may be unsure about. If I can be of any help to answer your questions, please do not hesitate to come and see me or drop me a note into school. |

I have worked at Hassell for 15 years. I started by working in Happy Times Care Club in the holidays and the before and after school club. I have worked as a classroom assistant in all year groups. I also worked in the Nursery Pre-reception class, moving on to become a special needs assistant. I am now managing the Nursery, which I find very challenging, yet immensely enjoyable. As a team, we are currently introducing the new Early Years Foundation Stage, (EYFS). I am qualified at Level 3- NNEB, and I am also working towards a degree in Early Childhood studies. |

I am a County Council Governor, at Hassell St. My areas of responsibility within Governors committees are PSHE, Art, Health and Safety and Maintenance. I also act as Chairperson for Happy Times Care Club Committee and Deputy Chair for the PTFA. My working background is Personnel and Health and Safety. I joined the Governors with the hope that the work I do for the School has a positive effect on the Schools and children’s environment. Joining the other committees allows me to better see problems and find helpful solutions from all angles, it also allows for communication of information between committees which can have an impact when Governors discuss issues. |
